Heating Integrated into a Wearable Band
E-Textile Wearable developed a wearable heating band that combines embroidered heating elements, proprietary conductive pathways, and integrated electrical connections within a textile structure. Developed internally and later offered to multiple customers, the project covered the complete system - from band design and textile integration to heating controllers, firmware, an app, backend, and web interface.

Heating band with integrated embroidered heating elements and an electronic control module.
Project Background
The goal was to bring localized heating into a wearable band while integrating the electrical system into the textile construction.
This required the heating elements, power connections, controller interface, and band structure to work together as one product. Our team developed both the textile assembly and the supporting electronics and software.
The project demonstrates a practical application of heating garments and heated electronic textiles, using a compact band format.

Development Scope
Stage 1 — Band Design and Embroidered Heating Integration
We designed the band and incorporated embroidered heating elements into its textile structure.
The integration brought the heating function into the band itself, with the textile construction accommodating the heating area, electrical routing, and controller attachment location.
This work combined garment design with electrical integration, treating the band as a complete wearable system.
Stage 2 — Proprietary Conductive Pathways
We incorporated our proprietary conductive pathways to carry electrical power between the module interface and the embroidered heating elements.
The heating elements and conductive pathways perform different roles within the product: the heating elements generate warmth, while the pathways deliver power to them. Integrating both into the band required a coordinated textile and electrical layout.
Stage 3 — Interconnections and Module Landing Area
We applied our interconnections expertise to join the embroidered heating elements, conductive pathways, and module interface.
Our scope also included the module landing area—the part of the band designed to accommodate the electronic controller and its connection to the textile assembly.
These connection points are an essential part of the product architecture, linking the soft textile components with the electronic hardware.
Stage 4 — Heating Controllers and Software
Alongside the textile integration, we developed the heating controllers and firmware, together with an app, backend, and web interface.
The power and controller module provides the electronic side of the heating system, while the firmware and software support its operation and user interaction.
This complete development scope allowed the textile, electronics, and software to be designed together.
Stage 5 — Washable and Dryable Textile Construction
We also made the textile band washable and dryable, incorporating care requirements into the product’s development.
For an integrated heating product, washability involves the complete textile assembly, including its heating elements, conductive pathways, and connection points.
Key Engineering Challenges
Integrating Heating into a Wearable Band
The band needed to accommodate the embroidered heating structure alongside the layers and features required for wear. Heating integration and textile design therefore had to be considered together.
Connecting Different Materials and Components
The electrical system brought together embroidered heating elements, proprietary conductive pathways, and an electronic module interface. The connections between these components were a central part of the integration work.
Accommodating the Electronic Module
The module landing area had to form part of the band’s overall construction. Its position and integration needed to account for both the electronic connection and the wearable format.
Combining Textile Care with Electrical Function
Making the band washable and dryable required attention to the integrated assembly as a whole. The textile construction and electrical connections were both relevant to achieving this product feature.
Project Outcome
The heating band was fully developed internally and later offered to multiple customers.
Our work covered the band design, embroidered heating integration, proprietary conductive pathways, interconnections, module landing area, heating controllers, firmware, app, backend, and web interface.
The result demonstrates our ability to bring textile engineering, electronics, and software together within a complete wearable heating product.
